When can I bring my pup to class?
Puppies can attend classes a week after their first vaccination, as they will be mixing with puppies of a similar vaccination status.
It is important for pups to socialise as soon as possible, as they become shy and less confident between 11 and 13 weeks. If they experience extreme negativity during this period they can become very fearful, which in some cases can lead to fear aggression.
Another good reason to attend puppy calls is that if puppies do not mix with other pups of a similar age, they forget how to play and therefore do not have the adequate skills to behave when they come into contact with their own species. Attending puppy classes early helps them with these issues and importantly will help you to understand your puppy’s growth and behaviour in the first weeks of its life.
Remember a week in a Puppies life is a long time. They mature very quickly. You need to put enough time aside to deal with this critical period.
